Symphony of Healing

We offer a broad array of modalities:

What is the DreamWeaver?

The DreamWeaver is a unique sound environment that, in the hands of a trained facilitator, brings relaxation and healing to the body, mind and spirit. The instrument is comprised of a 5-foot copper dodecahedron built above and around a specialized mat on which the client lies. Speakers project music in a "surround sound" way while the mat sends vibration through the body.

The DreamWeaver was created by enginer, student of sacred geometry and healer, Benedick Howard. DreamWeavers are found world-wide. Linda Stalvey at Symphony of Healing is the only certified DreamWeaver Facilitator in Ohio.

DreamWeaver Session

A Facilitated DreamWeaver Session takes approximately 2 hours, therefore wear comfortable clothing. You will complete a history form to ensure safety, and select a variety of color cards. These actions will provide your facilitator with information to craft your session. You will also rate how you feel about eight body indicators, such as stress level and physical and emotional pain. During each session you will experience three or four selections of music based on your intent. Aromatherapy will augment each musical segment. Bodywork, guided meditation, tuning forks or other modalities may be included within the musical interlude. You will process each interlude allowing for a refinement or change in intent for subsequent musical segments. At the conclusion of each session, color cards and assessment questions will be repeated allowing the client a subjective evaluation of work accomplished in the DreamWeaver.

DreamWeaver Benefits

During DreamWeaver Sessions, clients may experience:
    Decreased stress
    Improved self-esteem
    Increased focus
    Reduced physical pain
    Reduced emotional pain
    Increased empowerment
    Increased life manageability

Symphony of Healing Experience With the DreamWeaver

Linda Stalvey started working with the DreamWeaver in 1998, after a profound healing experience from childhood surgical trauma. She completed Level I training (individual sessions) by the end of the year, and completed Level II training (group facilitation) shortly thereafter. She has performed hundreds of facilitated DreamWeaver Sessions, worked with numerous groups, and exhibited at a variety of healing fairs, New Thougth churches, metaphysical stores and yoga studios and has teamed with her Craniosacral teacher and mentor, Suzanne Scurlock-Durana to bring the powerful healing environment and facilitation to Suzanne's From Trauma to Ecstacy healing intensive in Charles Town, WV.

Work with a small group of expectant mothers led to the publication of DreamWeaving With the Unborn Child, in the International Journal of Childbirth Education, Vol. 16, No. 3, September 2001. This issue of the journal was devoted to alternative medicine.

Craniosacral Therapy

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy, or CST, is a gentle hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system--comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician Dr. John E. Upledger.

Using soft touch, generally no greated the the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, thus complementing the body's natural healing process.

Somato Emotional Release (SER) is a therapeutic process that uses and expands on the principles of Craniosacral Therapy to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma, and may be used in a CST session as appropriate.

For additional information on Craniosacral Therapy, please visit:

Craniosacral Therapy Session

During a craniosacral therapy session, the client lies fully clothed on a massage table. The CST practitioner places hands on the body in specific locations, dictated by the energy flow and energy blocks of the body. Dialogue may or may not be included in the CST session. Sessions generally last 60 minutes.

Craniosacral Therapy Benefits

CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

Therapeutic Massage

What is therapeutic massage?

Massage therapy is the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of normalizing those tissues and consists of manual techniques that include applying fixed or moveable pressure, holding and/or causing movement of or to the body.

Massage is known to affect the circulation of the blood and the flow of blood and lymph, reduce muscular tension or flaccidity, affect the nervous system through stimulation or sedation, and enhance tissue healing.

There are many types of massage. Symphony of Healing offers Swedish, Deep Tissue and Pregnancy massage.

What to expect during a massage session

In a typical massage session of 30 to 60 minutes, the client disrobes to their level of comfort. Draping ensures that all parts of the body are covered except the area to be worked. Massage is also available to those who choose to remain fully dressed.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of natural hands-on, energy-based healing.

Reiki originated in Japan in the early 1900s and is widely used in many settings, including medical facilities. The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei" which means universal, and "ki" which means vital energy that flows through all living things.

Reiki assists in balancing your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being to promote a deep sense of relaxation. Reiki energy may be experienced as heat, tingling, or pulsing where a practitioner places hands on the body. Some people feel the sensation move through the body to other locations; some people feel no change at all. Most individuals feel very relaxed and peaceful; many clients even fall asleep while receiving Reiki treatment.

What to expect during a Reiki Session

During a Reiki session, you usually lie on a massage table or sit in a chair, fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner places hands gently on or slightly above the body in specific energy locations during  the session. The length of time the practitioner leaves hands in each position is determined by the flow of energy to the client at each location. There is no pressure, massage or manipulation.

Reiki Benefits

A Reiki treatment may:
Initiate a feeling of secuity, peace and wellness
    Bring a peaceful, deep relaxation
Dissolve energy blocks and tension, thereby reducing stress
Support the well-being of a client who is receiving medical treatment
    Stimulate the body's immune system
    Help to releive pain
Stimulate the tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery
    Help meditative states
    Promote natural self-healing
